Did anyone else notice President Bush's comments last week on the Russian's involvement with Georgia?
There he was, wagging his finger and telling Russia that this is the 21st century and we don't go invading other countries. I looked around to see if I was in the kitchen because the pot was calling the kettle black.
Apparently the European press took notice (and great umbrage, I might add), and there were lots of headlines calling our president a hypocrite in big bold letters. Unfortunately, our American press was out to lunch at the time and missed this story all together.
Neither of the two presidential candidates noticed it, either – or they didn't think it important enough to comment on it. So much for any change you can believe in or count on.
Between this morally bankrupt administration and our missing-in-action press, there is little wonder our reputation as a country is so damaged.
When I was on trial in D.C. this past May for “unlawful free speech on Supreme Court grounds,” I had the opportunity to talk with a woman from the United Kingdom about the Bush administration. She informed me that Bush & Co. has done so much damage to the reputation of the U.S. around the world that it will take a several generations to repair it, if ever.
If we expect to achieve world peace - or even have a good shot at working towards it - we need a government that is morally coherent and consistent, as well as a news media and a citizenry that hold government accountable. From where I sit, things are not looking good.

If only he felt the same way about America and stopped the illegals from Mexico taking over our country.
