Paris-Bissonette
Engagement: Paris and Bissonette

Jenna Paris and Christopher Bissonette, along with their parents have announced their engagement. Jenna is the daughter of Joanne and John Mitchell of Cowlesville, NY and the late Salvatore Paris. Christopher is the son of Michelle and Michael Bissonette of Clifton Park, NY.
The future bride is a graduate of Attica High School and attended The College of Saint Rose and Medaille College. She is employed by Globalquest Staffing Solutions, Inc., Williamsville, NY.
Her fiance is a graduate of Shenendehowa High School and the College of Saint Rose. He is employed by The Martin Group, Buffalo, NY.
A May 2010 wedding is planned.


Smith-Cechnicki
Engagement: Smith and Cechnicki

Judy Joyce and Gerald Smith of Schroon Lake announce the engagement of their daughter, Dana Smith to Leo Cechnicki, son of Edmund and Debbie Cechnicki of Amsterdam.
The future bride is a graduate of Schroon Lake Central High School and SUNY @ Plattsburgh. Her fiance is a graduate of Amsterdam High School and SUNY @ Plattsburgh.
A July 16, 2011 wedding is being planned in Albany.


Lezzi-Flynn
Engagement: Lezzi and Flynn

Louis and Diane Lezzi of West Charlton announce the engagement of their daughter, Heather Joanne Lezzi to Patrick Flynn, son of Paula Flynn of Walpole, MA and Michael Flynn of Daniels Island, SC. Heather is the granddaughter of James and Stella Pallotolo. Patrick is the grandson of Marie Flynn.
The future bride is a graduate of Galway High School, SUNY @ Geneseo and Northeastern University. She is a speech language pathologist at Providence Hospital, RI.
Her fiance is a graduate of Xavier High School and ITT Tech. He is a framer for Residential Construction for Bay State.
An April 2010 wedding is planned.


Richards-Nigro
Engagement: Richards and Nigro

Bruce and Phyllis Richards of Saratoga Springs announce the engagement of their daughter Melissa Richards, to Thomas Nigro, son of Thomas and Marcia Nigro of Pennsauken, New Jersey. Melissa is the granddaughter of Sandy VanEpps of Scotia. Thomas is the grandson of Anne Nixon of Akron, OH and Victor and Joan Nigro of Rome, NY.
The future bride is a graduate of Saratoga Springs High School; Cornell University, with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and Union College, where she received her MBA. She is a graduate student pursuing her PhD in atmospheric science at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Her fiance is a graduate of Pennsauken High School and Cornell University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He is a production engineer for Vestas Wind Systems.
A June 2010 wedding is planned at Sage Chapel, Ithaca, New York.


Huth-Long
Engagement: Huth and Long

Geof and Nancy Huth of Schenectady announce the engagement of their daughter, Erin M. Huth, to James S. Long, the son of Gertrude Schoepko of Albuquerque, New Mexico and the late David Long.
The future bride is a graduate of Schenectady High School and New York University, where she earned a BFA in film and television production. She has recently finished working as the contestant coordinator for the television game show, “Who Wants to be a Millionare”, which is now on hiatus.
Her fiance is a graduate of Eldorado High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and of New York University, where he earned a BA in cinema studies. He works as a video editor for Proton Studio in New York City. They both live in Astoria, Queens.
The couple became engaged on December 31, 2009 at Brick Cafe in Astoria. They are planning a fall 2010 wedding in Schenectady.


Walter and Rosemary Pryne 50th Anniversary
Anniversary: Pryne

Walter and Rosemary Pryne of Glenville recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Christmas Eve at the home of their niece and nephew, Jackie and Eric Filimon, of Ballston Lake, along with their other three nieces, Kathy Sanders, Debbie Sanders, and Laurie Pieniazek. A Mass was also celebrated at St. Anthony’s Church in Schenectady with the Rev. Richard Carlino officiating. The Prynes were married on December 26, 1959 at St. Joseph’s Church in Scotia with the Rev. George Brucker officiating.
Mrs. Pryne, the former Rosemary Caputo of Scotia, graduated from Scotia High School and attended Albany Business College. She retired from Marvin and Company CPA’s in Schenectady in 1998 after 35 years of service.
She is a part time deputy clerk with the Town of Glenville Tax Receiver office. She is active on the boards with the Glenville Senior Center and Proctor’s Theatre Guild. For the past eight years she has worked registration for the annual Ironman Race in Lake Placid. She is vice-queen of her Ruby Topper group, which is a chapter of the Red Hat Society. Mrs. Pryne is an avid Yankees fan and was the subject of a TV spot with Liz Bishop on Channel 6 showing her Yankees memorabilia. She enjoys her time spent at the Saratoga Gaming and Raceway.
Mr. Pryne, a native of Utica, NY, graduated from Oswego State and Cornell University, and was a department chairman and teacher at Scotia High School, retiring in 1988 in the Industrial Arts Department after 34 years of service. He also taught driver training during summer school for six years after retiring. Mr. Pryne is a veteran having served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Midway from 1946 to 1951. He presently works part time at the Manheim Auto Auction in Clifton Park, and has been a member of the Scotia- Glenville Lions Club for the past 54 years, and a member of the Clifton Park Elks for the past 25 years. He also is a member of the Town of Glenville Planning Board and the Traffic Safety Committee for the Town of Glenville.
They both belong to the Northeastern New York Golden Retriever Club and have had golden retrievers for pets for the past 25 years. Their current golden is Jack Daniels (JD) who is seven years old. The Prynes are also both Republican Committee members for the Schenectady County Republican Committee representing District 23 in Glenville. They both enjoy hockey and have season tickets to both Union College hockey and Albany River Rats hockey and are active in their booster clubs. They are charter members of the Union College Garnet Blades Club which supports the hockey program at Union College.
During the summer months they are frequently at their home on Lake Kiwassa in the Saranac Lake chain of lakes, where they have resided for 38 years. They spent nine days there when the 1980 Olympic games were in Lake Placid seeing both of the hockey games that the USA won beating Russia and Finland. They also saw Eric Heiden receive his five gold medals. They have resided in Glenville for the past 49 years.


David Perrino Joanna Herzfeld
Wedding: Herzfeld and Perrino

David Matthew Perrino and Joanna Herzfeld were married on August 1, 2009 at the Whitby Castle in Rye, New York, where a celebration followed for family and friends. The Reverend K. Jeddah Vailakis was the officiating minister. Parents of the bride are Pamela Herzfeld, Sanford Herzfeld and Audrey Dursht of Manhattan, and parents of the groom are Dr. Michael and Carol Perrino of Schenectady, NY.
Grandparents of the bride are Helen Gural of Rhinebeck, NY and the late John Gural, Mildred Katleman of Stamford, CT, and the late Gerald and Geraldine Herzfeld. Grandparents of the groom are Ralph Perrino of Schenectady and the late Gilda Perrino, and Anthony and Rose Cuda of Schenectady.
The bride’s sister, Meredith Herzfeld of New Jersey, was maid of honor, and Sari Nadler Perrino of Manhattan, was matron of honor.
The groom’s brother, Dr. Michael Perrino of Manhattan, was best man. Groomsmen were Morrison Haas of New Jersey and Jason Herzfeld of Manhattan, both brothers of the bride. Eli Benjamin Perrino of Manhattan, nephew of the groom, was ringbearer.
A graduate of Union College and Wheelock College, the bride is a 2nd grade teacher at The School at Columbia University in Manhattan.
Her husband is a graduate of Union College and is a third year dental student at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in Manhattan.
The couple vacationed in Hawaii and Napa Valley, and currently reside in Manhattan.
